When I joined COF Africa as a volunteer during my National Youth Service in Benue State, I expected to contribute my time. I did not realise how much the experience would shape me in return.

Who can join the volunteer programme?
Anyone aged 18 or above who is passionate about making a positive difference is welcome to apply. We welcome students, corps members, professionals, retirees, and individuals from all backgrounds.
Do I need prior experience?
Not always. Some positions require specific technical skills, while many only require commitment, reliability, and a willingness to learn.
Can I volunteer remotely?
Yes. Several roles, including design, communications, research, and digital support, can be carried out remotely. Community outreach and field activities are usually onsite.
How much time should I commit?
This depends on the role. Some opportunities are event-based, while others involve ongoing monthly commitments. We aim to provide flexible opportunities that fit your schedule.
Is there any cost involved?
No. Applying to become a volunteer is completely free.
Will I receive training?
Yes. Selected volunteers receive an orientation to help them understand our mission, values, safeguarding policies, and role expectations before getting started.
Will I receive a certificate?
Volunteers who successfully complete assigned responsibilities or participate in eligible programmes may receive a certificate of service in recognition of their contribution.
Can NYSC corps members apply?
Absolutely. COF Africa welcomes corps members who are passionate about community development and social impact.
